This Privacy Policy explains how PUNCHBOOK (PVT) LTD (“Punchbook”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and protects information when you use punchbook.online, the Punchbook Pickup mobile app and other Punchbook-powered restaurant ordering and payment experiences.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Punchbook, we may collect:
- your name and mobile number when provided during checkout;
- order information such as restaurant, table number or pickup time, items, notes for the kitchen, amounts and payment status;
- transaction references and limited payment-related information returned by our payment providers;
- technical information such as browser type, device information, IP address and basic usage data; and
- information you send to us when requesting support or reporting an order or payment issue.
Punchbook Pickup app
The Punchbook Pickup app lets you order ahead from participating restaurants and collect your order at the counter. You do not need to create an account to use it.
- What the app collects: the name and mobile number you enter at checkout, the items you order, your chosen pickup time, any note for the kitchen, and the payment method and status of each order.
- Why: so the restaurant can prepare your order, call out your name and contact you about it, and so the app can show your order status.
- Stored on your phone: the app saves your name, mobile number and recent orders on your device so you don’t have to re-enter them. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes this copy.
- What the app does not do: it does not access your location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos; it does not show advertising; and it does not use your data to track you across other apps or websites.
- In transit: information the app sends to Punchbook is encrypted in transit using HTTPS.
Payment information
Card and other payment details are processed by trusted third-party payment providers such as OnePay (DirectPay), PayHere and other payment partners used by Punchbook or participating merchants. Punchbook does not intend to store your full card number, card security code or online-banking credentials on its own systems.
How we use information
We may use your information to:
- process and route restaurant orders;
- process payments and confirm payment status;
- show order status and estimated service times;
- help restaurants fulfil and manage orders;
- provide customer support and investigate disputes or refund requests;
- prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorised activity; and
- maintain, secure and improve Punchbook.
How we share information
We may share relevant information with the restaurant or café fulfilling your order, payment processors and banks, technology and hosting providers that support Punchbook, and authorities where disclosure is required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
Participating restaurants may receive the customer and order information reasonably required to prepare, serve, support and reconcile your order.
Cookies and similar technologies
Punchbook may use cookies, local storage and similar technologies to keep the service working, remember session information, improve performance and understand basic usage.
Data retention
We retain personal and transaction information only for as long as reasonably necessary for order fulfilment, payment reconciliation, customer support, fraud prevention, legal obligations and legitimate business records.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. No online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your choices and requests
You may contact us to ask about personal information we hold about you, request correction where appropriate, or raise a privacy concern, subject to applicable legal and record-keeping requirements. To ask us to delete your personal information, follow the steps on our data deletion page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be published on this page with the updated date.
